My Story 

MY STORY — WHY I BUILT JEPSON PERFORMANCE

 

I’ve been chasing the game since I was 6 years old.
I was never the biggest, strongest, or fastest. But I had a gift—and I worked relentlessly to sharpen it. By high school, I had the technique. The IQ. The mindset.

But I had never touched a weight. I had no idea how to build my body for the long haul.
And it caught up to me.

Senior year of high school during the most important part of the season, the playoffs, I strained my rectus femoris. I kept playing through it—pushed through the pain—and that strain turned into a golf-ball-sized injury still stuck in my leg to this day.
I didn’t know it yet, but that one injury would be the root of a chain reaction that haunted me for years.

 

In college, I had to be resilient just to stay in the game.
Out of 15 freshmen, only 4 of us made it to senior year. We went through 3 coaches and over 50 teammates. Just when it felt like our class was about to finish the journey together—I broke my foot.

Jones fracture. Surgery. 5 months of rehab. I fought like hell to come back for senior year.
Then, day one of preseason...
I broke the other foot.
Same injury. Same surgery.
And I never got to play with my brothers.

I took a redshirt year. Stayed the course. And it paid off.
 

The next season, I came back and scored 11 goals with 5 assists in 13 games.
We won our program’s first-ever Horizon League regular season championship.
I was named Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Region, and finished top 10 in the country in points per game at the NCAA D1 level.

 

I thought my career was finally taking off. I signed a pro contract. Started games. Scored. Assisted. Built momentum.

But that injury from high school—the one in my right leg—led to an adductor injury that I picked up years later.
 

I pushed through that adductor tear just to stay in the starting lineup. But the imbalances caught up to me again. I tore the meniscus in my other knee.

3 knee surgeries. 18 months of rehab. Still, I didn’t quit.
 

But the adductor never got the attention it needed so, surgery became a requirement to fix my adductor muscle. I kept playing through it until it led to a sport hernia and a hip tear. I had to fly to Philadelphia to get surgery from one of the best hip surgeons in the country.

 

All of this—every injury, every setback, every mental battle—was me chasing the game I loved.
And all of it taught me what I never knew in high school:

 

 

You can’t just train hard—you have to train smart.

That’s why I built Jepson Performance.
 

 

Because I learned the hard way. I lived through what not to do.
But I also learned exactly how the human body works. How to train it. Protect it. Prepare it for real performance.

 

Now, I help committed soccer players avoid the same path.
